After the BP oil spill disaster struck last April, it seems as though that is all you heard people talk about. Now, you can barely find one media source giving any information about how the animals, coastal environment, and the fisherman are doing. The only thing you can find are blogs, such as this, hoping and praying that someone will read them. BP’s ad campaign makes you believe everything is back to normal on the Gulf coast when that is far from the truth.

BP claims that everything is slowly getting back to normal. Beaches are clean, animals are healthy, and fishermen are back to work. BP’s ad campaign featured on many media outlets has a Louisiana business owner, Rick Scali, claiming that, “the beaches are clean and our Gulf coast is back in business.” Rick Scali goes on to say, “I didn’t know what to expect, but they did what they said they were going to do”.

And season 2′s book has some extras in there too in addition to the longer, more in-depth episode guide — bios of the guest stars; a chapter on “doppelganger hijinks” in season 2; interviews with fandom leaders Chloe Dawn and Jess and Brannan of Mystic Falls Tours/VampireStalkers.com, Bryton James, and Tiya Sircar; chapters on the movies/books that inspired episode titles; and much more! If you’ve read any of my posts on Vampire-Diaries.net, you’ll be familiar with the basic format — in the book, I talk about those types of things as well as get into history, lore, the music, off camera fun facts, and much more.”- Crissy Calhoun

“The proposed Keystone XL pipeline is a project that would transport extremely toxic tar sands oil 1,700 miles from Alberta, Canada through the middle of the US heartland to the Texas Gulf coast for refining. Tar sands oil production is one of the most destructive strip mining techniques on earth and results in deforestation, habitat loss, ground water contamination, pillaging of native lands, and three times the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere than that of traditional oil”. ISF Petition to stop the Keystone Pipeline

Remember the ISF Sled Dog petition and how successful it was? Well ISF has put out a second petition to stop the Keystone Pipeline! We know our voice matters and we’ve seen the power it holds, so let’s use it again and sign this petition!

Kim Klinger, Executive Director for ISF tweeted this about the petition:

Her statement has impact! You can follow Kim on twitter @kimodo007

Ian Somerhalder has also tweeted the importance of signing this petition:

“Empoweresque is a celebration…

An awakening of the uniqueness and power within women.
If you think being sexy is akin to throwing on a pair of heels, think again…
It’s about the woman within knowing that SHE has the power to change the world.

It’s not what you look like.
It’s not about your size, age, color or faith.
It’s who you ARE.
It’s your passion, your strength and your ability to inspire and lead change not just within yourself, but within others.
It’s about awakening your divine femininity and becoming an “Empoweress.”

This awakening within yourself will forever change you, and uniting empowered women will forever change the world.
Historically, we’ve seen phenomenal female change makers. These women “stand up and stand out”, but why must they stand up as ONE woman when we can “stand up & stand out” together to radically transform the world as one UNITED divine force?
What are you waiting for?

Join us as we unite empowered women who will forever change the world.”ISF

Hello everyone! It’s Amber here with a sad but very uplifting story about a kitten I rescued last night. His name is Corder (the name of the road I found him on) and he, who I thought was a she, was found in horrible shape. To read about how I found him please visit my blog here.

UPDATE: Today I took him to the vet and he is in worse shape than I had realized but the vet says he is quite the fighter! He does have a really bad infection in his eyes, blisters on his feet and is running a fever. He only weighs 1.11 lbs and they said he can’t be over 5 weeks. They say it’s too soon to know if he will have full vision but they did run a test and there is some vision there. I got all the medication I need for him and he has a follow up in two weeks.

With or without help I was going to save this kitten. I would NEVER ask for donations for personal reasons but I really want to see Corder survive and be placed in a loving home, which he deserves. I know these vet bills are going to add up. I am asking if you can spare anything even if it’s only a dollar, you will be helping me save this precious kittens life! Anything over what I don’t spend at the vet will be donated directly to our save the wolf project.

Thank you so much in advance and I will keep everyone posted on how our new little friend is doing!

UPDATE 2: After taking a nap, I woke up worried about our little man and went to check on him and was VERY happy to see his left eye has stayed open for 12 hours now!! We went ahead and gave him some more antibiotics and eye drops. He was fighting me, this is a good sign! He just ate some food and is now walking around in my office. I couldn’t be happier about his progress right now! Here’s a pic, I know the eyes still look rough, but this is 50% better than it was when I found him! Thanks again to everyone who has donated today, you guys are awesome and I love you all so much from the bottom of my heart! I promise I won’t update 50 times in a day but I will try daily or every other day, I’m just so excited about him getting better! :) -Amber

Hello supporters! We wanted to give you all some more information about what we are working on with Michael Trevino to help #SaveTheWolf!

Vampire Support is currently in the process of changing our name to Scream For A Dream. The meaning behind the name change is we wanted to be able to expand outside of vampire fandoms and be taken more seriously. Check out Chloe’s vlog above to find out more information.

We have been encouraging people to donate to your Paypal account as well as adopt one of your wolves. Our goal is to raise $2,500 for your sanctuary and once we’ve raised that our next goal will be $5,000. I wanted to fill you in on a couple of projects that we are working on that will benefit your sanctuary.

Current and Upcoming Project:

1) We are currently holding a contest on our Crowdrise page to anyone that donates exactly $18. They will be entered in a drawing to win a Michael Trevino 8×10 autographed photo.

2) We are selling wolf orientated shirts with all proceeds going to WMS. You can find our shirts here.

3) We have  200 “Team Tyler” wristbands to sell with all proceeds going to Wolf Mountain Sanctuary. These will be available for purchase in about two weeks. We will be selling 1 bracelet for $5 and 3 bracelets for $10.

We have a lot more up our sleeves but these are just a few of the ideas we’ve come up with. Stay tuned for more information!

Vampire Support is proud to announce our next project, “Save The Wolf.” As you know, Michael Trevino from the hit television show The Vampire Diaries is helping us out! He researched multiple different wolf sanctuaries and we’ve finally found the perfect one! We are excited to announce that we are collaborating with Wolf Mountain Sanctuary.

Wolf Mountain Sanctuary is “a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the preservation, protection and proper management of wolves in the wild and in captivity. Our (their) purpose and ultimate goal is to save these great noble animals from extinction.” They are currently located in Southern California and currently care for 14 wolves. They save wolves from the movie industry, private owners, and from breeders.

One of the many reason’s why we chose this sanctuary is they actually have the wolves that they used in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Yep! That’s right! NEW MOON. You can find more information about how their wolves were used in production by clicking here.

While we wait anxiously for our Team Tyler bracelets to arrive, check out how you can “adopt” one of Wolf Mountain’s wolves for as little as $10 a month! You even get to pick out which wolf from the pack you want to sponsor! How cool! Click here to adopt one of their beautiful wolves.

Don’t forget to purchase a “Team Tyler” shirt! All proceeds will go to Wolf Mountain Sanctuary! Click here to purchase a shirt.

This is Niwah, one of Wolf Mountain Sanctuary’s wolves. :)

Hello Supporters! We are excited to give you a small preview of our next project! We are currently working with Michael Trevino from the hit television show The Vampire Diaries. As you may know, Michael plays Tyler Lockwood who also happens to be a werewolf. Michael has had the chance to work with live wolves and he thought the perfect thing would be to raise awareness and funds to help save these beautiful creatures from extinction. We have ordered “Team Tyler” bracelets that are black with white font with a paw print. (Michael picked out the colors himself.)  They will be available for order in about 3-4 weeks. (We will ship WORLDWIDE!) We are currently in talks with a wolf sanctuary in Southern California and are waiting anxiously for their reply! We will update you as soon as we hear from them! While we wait for the bracelets to be made, we currently have a “Team Tyler” shirt that you can order. All proceeds from this will go to the wolf rescue of Trevino’s choice. Click here to purchase a shirt.

We are so excited for this project and cannot wait to get it up and running!

While you’re at it, check out our interview with Michael:

Vampire Support’s exclusive interview with Ian Somerhalder is finally here! This interview is strictly about The Ian Somerhalder Foundation and all of the questions were submitted by you guys, the fans. Please keep in mind that we were on a strict time schedule and barely had anytime to set up. That’s why there are people walking around in the background, sound isn’t very good, etc. We apologize for that but there wasn’t a lot we could do about it. For the time and space we were given to set up and film, I’d say we did a dang fine job. Thanks again for submitting your questions and enjoy! :)
