“The proposed Keystone XL pipeline is a project that would transport extremely toxic tar sands oil 1,700 miles from Alberta, Canada through the middle of the US heartland to the Texas Gulf coast for refining. Tar sands oil production is one of the most destructive strip mining techniques on earth and results in deforestation, habitat loss, ground water contamination, pillaging of native lands, and three times the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere than that of traditional oil”. Please stop this pipeline! We are still cleaning up from the last oil spill and we are already thinking of building a new way to spill more!

In an age where climate is at the forefront of polictical campaigns as well s many activist movements and community related projects and we concern ourselves with recycling and conesrving and “being green”, it is a travesty that this sort of detrimental proposition is even on the table. It will contaminate the air around where my family, friends and I live as well as the water, destroy the environment for the entire length of the pipeline, and cause crippling damage to the environment. This must be stopped. We have a responsibility not only to ourselves but to future generatins to protect our valuable natural resources and keep the planet in livable condition.

This pipeline will create havoc with our environment, probably in more ways than we have yet imagined. The US has ample oil supply in the Dakotas and Texas in addition to the variety of green energy sources. It is last that should be developed.

It is terrifying to think of the repercussions of a project like this, it is an amazing example of greedy oil tycoons simply wanting more money. I am sixteen, if I ever have children I want the environment they live in to be clean. This horrible idea threatens that wish. Mother nature should not be tampered with like this.

I’m all for a green environment for my children, but has anyone stopped to think what will happen if keystone isn’t approved? Think about the thousands of workers who are counting on this job.

This needs to be stopped NOW!! There are enough problems in The Reservations as it is, without adding to it! We as First Nations Peoples, ALL AS A TEAM, need DESPERATELY to pull together as ONE, and help with these situations ONE STEP AT A TIME! We need to stop fighting ourselves AND each other! We will all be different nations BUT: Gusdi idadadvhni!! (We are ALL COUSINS!!) The other people (RUNNING THE COUNTRY) don’t care about us, ONLY, what they can get for themselves!! LETS DO THIS!! Sgi..

It seems to me that the cons really outweigh the possible pros. I can honestly say i am new to most of this but ISF has been more than helpful to open my eyes on how we should really take the risks needed to make lasting helpful change. I know there are many people that are counting on jobs with this venture but we have all sacrificed alot already. People in this country have already lost jobs, wait for jobs, and countinue to work at jobs they hate, there is sacrifice all around but we are still pulling through. I can speak from experiance I am 27 and a single mother of two children working every day to barely pay my bills. I will sacrifice that everyday for the rest of my life for my boys to live long and full lifes being able to breath clean air and drink clear water.

Only when the last drop of clean water is gone and there air is killing us, only then will these oil men realize you can not eat money.
